Her father was a Labourer. On 3 December 1911 she was baptised at St Gabriel's Church, Canning Town, Essex. The family moved to 39 Lower North Street, Poplar. She attended Upper North Street School, Poplar and died there on 13 June 1917, aged 5 years, as a result of a German aeroplane bombing raid that killed a total of 18 children. She was buried on 20 June 1917 in a mass grave at the East London Cemetery and Crematorium, 260a Grange Road, Plaistow.
