Henry the 'Game Chicken' Pearce

Categories: Sport / Games

Bare-knuckle prizefighter. Born in Bristol. He fought under the London Prize Ring rules, and was the English champion from 1804 until 1807. His nickname probably derives from his signing his name as 'Hen'. He was inducted into the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1987, and the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1993.
