Ifor Williams

Categories: Benefactor

At Annual report of the Royal Northern Hospital : 1946, in a "SCHEDULE OF INVESTMENTS" we found reference to "Capt. Ifor Williams’ Endowment Fund".

Possibly the son of the Welsh scholar Sir Ifor Williams (1881 - 1965) who did have a daughter and a son from his 1913 marriage. In this case he would have been too young to serve in WW1 but could have served in WW2.

At the source this image is captioned "Captain Ifor Williams. Royal Welsh Fusiliers. World War 1" but we have no confirmation that it is the man who endowed the hospital. It certainly cannot be Sir Williams' son.

Note: there is no evidence either way to indicate whether Williams died in either world war.

We don't know if Ifor Williams Trailers have any connection to our man.
