Roy Sheldrake Kerridge, RNR (Royal Naval Reserve). He was killed while attempting to defuse a parachute mine which fell in Wright Road. As a result of the explosion 122 houses were destroyed or made uninhabitable. Kerridge Court was named for him, and has a plaque commemorating him. This replaces a bronze tablet which was lost.
