Lord Holland, Henry Richard Vassall-Fox, 3rd Baron Holland

Whig politician. Grandson of the first Baron, and nephew of Charles James Fox. Born Wiltshire and orphaned by the age of 5.

Owned 401 slaves. Express Informer provides "‘By the unexpected death of his wife’s first husband in 1800, Holland found himself the reluctant, but effectual proprietor of the Vassall plantations in Jamaica." He claimed to abhor slavery, but apparently not enough to free the slaves as soon as they came into his ownership.
