Impressionist artist. Paul Cézanne was born in Aix-en-Provence. He studied at the Academie Suisse in Paris, and Camille Pissaro became his major influence. Amongst his best known paintings are 'The Card Players', 'Man in a Straw Hat' and 'The Gardener'.
