Rai Mohabib Singh was born on 17 July 1964. He died, aged 23 years, together with his sister, Susheila Nirmala Cottle and her son, his nephew, Dean Tonie Cottle, on 18 November 1987 in the King's Cross Underground Station fire. It was reported that all three were returning home having visited another nephew, Marvyn Tonie Cottle (b.1976), at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

According to the subsequent fire investigation report published by the Department of Transport he was an assisstant manager, but the report does not name the company he worked for.
