Rosie Isabel Burrett was born on 26 January 1885 in Newington, a daughter of Harry Burrett and Charlotte Burrett née Goodday. Her father was a Currier. She was baptised on 11 March 1885 at St Mary's Church, Newington, and the family were living at 53 Peacock Street, Newington. The 1901 census shows her residing with her widowed mother and elder brother and sister at 127 Manor Place, Newington, and her occupation was recorded as a Dressmaker's Assistant. On 22 October 1910 she married George Walter Crawford, a Farrier of 15 Etherdon Street, Walworth, at St Paul's Church, Lorrimore Square, Southwark and the 1911 census shows them living at 147 Liverpool Street, Walworth. They had three children, Winifred Rose Crawford who was born on 20 August 1911, Stanley Walter George Crawford who was born on 12 April 1914 and Marjorie I Crawford who was born on 28 April 1918. When their son was baptised on 12 April 1914 the family were living at 32 Aylesbury Road, Walworth. Her husband died in 1937 and the 1939 England and Wales Register, which gives her date of birth, shows her living with her younger daughter at 10 Woodwarde Road, East Dulwich, London, SE22.
The Register of WWII Civilian Deaths for the Metropolitan Borough of Camberwell shows that she died, aged 54 years, on 24 September 1940 at 10 Woodwarde Road. She was however, 55 years of age. She was buried at the Camberwell New Cemetery and Crematorium, Brenchley Gardens, London, SE23 3RD. In December 1940 administration of her estate was granted to her son. Her effects totalled £292-13s-2d.
