Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov Lenin

Categories: Politics & Administration

Countries: Russia

Founder of the USSR. Born and died in Russia. Political theorist and Communist revolutionary. Reviewing a book on Lenin in the Observer, 23 October 2016, Nigel Jones wrote: "... once in power Lenin proved a tyrannical, murderous despot ...". Visited London 6 times between 1902 and 1911. Big fan of the British Museum and its Library. Sarah J. Young has a very readable page about Lenin in London.

Lenin died at his dacha, just outside Moscow. Since then his body has been on display in the specially constructed Lenin's Mausoleum on Red Square.

From Idealogical Commentary: Theme song for Lenin: "I was born under a squandering Tsar".

Surely the most inaccessible statue of anyone is Lenin's bust at the southern pole of inaccessibility.
