HMS Albion disaster

Inscription

{The five red granite slabs carry the names and ages of 28 victims of the disaster, See Subjects commemorated.}

28 victims are buried here; another 6-11 victims (numbers differ between sources) were buried elsewhere. Of these 28, 12 were children (below the age of 18) including 2 babies, and only 8 were male.

We were asked to stop taking photos here because it was an 'invasion of privacy'. This has never before happened to us in cemeteries and seems very strange as we weren't photographing other visitors, only this mass grave and memorial for a historic event.
