St John on Bethnal Green war memorial

Inscription

Remember

A large crucifix is quite common in the forecourt of a church. This one, planted in a pile of stones, a cairn, reminds us of one in Highgate that specifically references WW1 which suggests that this taciturn memorial is also for WW1.
