Commemorated on a memorial as having died in WW1.

Private Arthur Frederick Noakes

The Hampton Wick Remembers website gives much information about this soldier. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission's website confirms that he died, aged 19 years on 5 May 1918 and is buried in Plot 1, Row G, Grave 22 in the Bagneux British Cemetery, 10 Rue de la Gare, Gézaincourt, France.

He had been serving in the 13th (Service) Battalion, The Royal Fusiliers, and the Army Register of Soldiers Effects confirms that he died of wounds. His army effects totalling £11-1s-0d were sent to his mother on 11 September 1918 and she was sent his £14-10s-0d war gratuity on 28 November 1919. He was posthumously awarded the British War Medal 1914-1918 and the Victory Medal.
