Rosalie Drury Jnr.

Rosalie Drury was born on 27 August 1913 the only child of Francis Hubert Drury (1882-1947) and Rosalie Drury née Sawyer (1887-1982). Her father was an armourer and metalworker in the theatrical industry. On 21 September 1913 she was baptised at St John's Church, Clerkenwell and the family were living at 8 Benjamin Street.

The 1939 England and Wales Register confirms that she was still living at 8 Benjamin Street with her parents. Her occupation was listed as a Gold Embroideress, whilst her father was shown as an Armourer, Tower of London, Leading Repairer of Antique Arms and Armour. Her father died on 2 January 1947 and electoral registers from 1948 to 1961 show her and her mother at 8 Benjamin Street.

The premises were demolished and electoral registers for 1962 and 1964 show them both at 61 Corporation Buildings, Farringdon Road, Clerkenwell. These buildings were demolished in 1970 and according to a family tree on ancestry.co.uk her mother on died on 21 January 1982 in 23 Charles Townsend House, Finsbury Estate, London, EC1. This being the case telephone directories show an R. Drury at this address from 1975 and these directories show an R. Drury continuing to live there for several years thereafter, so one assumes this was the daughter. She died in Islington, aged 89 years, on 19 May 2003.

The photo shows Drury as a 9-year old bridesmaid.
